URGENT ILLNESS

When your child is sick or injured, we know you need access to sound medical information and advice. For acute illness, call our office at 717-569-8518 and ask to speak to one of our highly trained triage nurses. The triage nurse will ask you a series of questions to help you decide if your child's issue can be best managed:

  • in the emergency room
  • in our office
  • at home

Telephone-Triage-Nurse.jpgOur triage nurses follow the Dr. Barton Schmitt Pediatric Telephone Protocol, the gold standard in pediatric telephone triage, ensuring you get consistent, evidence-based clinical information. All the care advice they discuss with you is recorded into your electronic medical record and available for review by a Provider. Because the information is documented in your electronic medical records, we can access your information and treat you with the exact same great care at all three of our offices, or with anyone you talk to on the phone. Telephone Triage is available:

  • Monday - Thursday, 7:30am - 6pm
  • Friday, 7:30am -  5pm
If your child needs to be seen in one of our offices, we will make every effort to schedule an appointment for your child on the day that you call us. Our standard office hours in the Lancaster office are Monday through Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm. We also offer some early morning/early evening sick appointments based on provider availability. Office hours in our Brownstown and Mount Joy offices vary; call for availability.
