Nathan Keller, DO

Nate joined Eden Park Pediatrics in 2014 after completing his residency training at Penn State Children's Hospital. Having grown up in the Manheim area, being able to return to Lancaster for his dream job was an incredible blessing. He is endlessly entertained by interacting with the wide range of ages encountered at Eden Park and is driven by the long-term relationships that he develops with his patients and their families. The process of helping and watching a shell-shocked mother or father in the newborn nursery grow into a confident parent over the years never gets old. Outside the office you will often find him spending time with his wife, Sarah, sifting through antique shops, in the woods, or restoring classic cars...all typically with the Oriole's game on the radio in the background.

What was your favorite game as a kid?
NK:
I am a huge baseball fan and growing up you would have been hard pressed to find something I would have wanted to do more than hit and throw in the backyard.  My grand plan to make it to the Majors didn't quite pan out, but I still believe that you can't find a better game.

When did you decide to become a pediatrician?
NK:
I was one of the fortunate people who knew what he wanted to do from a young age.  I had always enjoyed science and had a knack for entertaining younger kids, but it was my dad who identified, when I was in middle school, that Pediatrics might be a great combination of these interests. That was a memorable moment of clarity for me and the idea instantly clicked, so off I went to pursue that goal and he could not have been more correct about my passion for this career.  Parents, you know your child better than anyone...don't underestimate the power of your insight.

Kids say the darndest things. What's your favorite?
NK:
The inevitable curiosity that leads most in the 3-5yr old range to ask some variation of "why don't you have any hair" never gets old. Here's to championing the 'bald is beautiful' notion to the next generation!

We love Doctor Keller. He has always been amazing with our kids and makes my son feel at ease. I feel like we are heard and he takes the time to answer any and all questions and I never feel like he's rushing through our visits. He makes each appointment feel like he has all the time in the world for us. My 4 year old has never been afraid of doctor visits thanks to Dr. Keller and all the Eden Park staff.

Dr. Keller has been absolutely fantastic with both of our boys. My oldest wasn't fond of the doctors office after a medical procedure and is just naturally shy initially, Dr. Keller knew just how to interact with him to get him to warm up. Now he comes in excited to see him! He has a warm and entertaining approach towards the boys. He makes sure that you understand things going on with your children. I can't say enough about how wonderful Dr. Keller is. In fact, Eden Park at as whole is absolutely fantastic!
